Then join us as an emergency Out of Hours Operator answering calls from customers experiencing housing emergencies, reports of anti-social behaviour, flooding or noise disturbances.

We are looking for motivated, caring, hardworking individuals who are able to stay calm; processing information from callers in what can often be a very distressing and highly emotional situations.

If you have experience of dealing with customers and can demonstrate great communication skills, then working for Appello as part of our out of hours team is an experience like no other.

Role overview:

To be the first point of contact for our customers, providing a 24-hour service to residents in sheltered apartments, commercial premises and servicing various out of hours telephone contracts.  

Hours Available:

  • 7.5 hours per week, Saturdays 11.00am – 7.00pm (7.5 hours per shift, 30 minute break)
  • 11.5 hours per week, Saturdays 7.00pm- 12.00am (5 hours per shift), Sundays 5.00pm- 12.00am (6.5 hours per shift, 30 minute break)
  • 14 hours per week, Saturdays 10.00am- 5.00pm (6.5 hours per shift, 30 minute break), Sundays 6.00am- 2.00pm (7.5 hours per shift, 30 minute break)
  • 9 hours per week, Tuesdays 6.00pm- 11.00pm (5 hours per shift), Saturdays 7.00pm- 12.00am (5 hours per shift)
  • 13.5 hours per week, Saturdays 12.00pm- 6.00pm, (6 hours per shift) Sundays 6.00am- 2.00pm (7.5 hours per shift, 30 minute break)
What you’ll be doing:
  • To take all out of hours calls for a number of contracts and log the information onto our in house database
  • To deploy approved subcontractors and/or appropriate action for our customers after receiving calls
  • To take all alarm calls from the main door entry at site via a computer system
  • To ensure that all calls are answered in the appropriate manner in accordance to the procedures and policies for both the control centre and Company.
  • To provide a high level of customer service focus to our client base
  • Escalate any complaints or long duration issues to the shift supervisor

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of customer over the telephone
