Then join us as an emergency Control Centre Operator answering calls for residents living in sheltered housing. 

Role overview:

We are looking for motivated, caring, hardworking individuals who are able to stay calm; processing information from callers in what can often be a very distressing and highly emotional situations.

If you have experience of dealing with customers and can demonstrate great communication skills, then working for Appello as part of our telecare team is an experience like no other.

Hours Available: 

  • 4.5 hours per week: Saturdays, 5.00pm - 9.30pm (5 hours per shift)
  • 24 hours per week: Mondays, 9.15am - 12.15pm & 6.00pm - 9.00pm Tuesdays, 9.15am - 1.15pm  Wednesdays, 9.15am - 12.15pm Thursdays, 9.15am - 1.15pm Fridays, 9.15am - 1.15pm & 6.00pm - 9.00pm
  • 30.625 hours per week: 4 shifts on / 4 shifts off, 6:45am to 4.00pm with a 30 minute unpaid rest break OR 4:00pm to midnight with a 30 minute unpaid rest break (9.25 hours per shift).
  • 22.75 hours per week: 4 shifts on / 4 shifts off, 7.00am to 2.00pm or 2:00pm to 9:00pm with a 30 minute unpaid rest break (6.5 hours per shift).
What you'll be doing:
  • To ensure that all calls are answered in the appropriate manner in accordance to the procedures and policies
  • Provide assistance to our customers in non-emergency and emergency situations
  • Liaise with emergency services including Police, Ambulance and Fire Services for emergency calls
  • Liaise with engineers, house & estate managers and residents relatives
  • Ensure accurate notes are detailed on our in house database for each call received
  • Provide a high level of Customer Service Focus to our client base
  • To ensure that you are able to use equipment and applications to a high standard
  • Set an example for others by championing the Company values. 

What we are looking for:

  • Computer literate with keyboard skills
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of customer over the telephone
  • Team player
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask actions
  • Attention to detail
