🕰️Hours: 37.5hours per week
📅Shift pattern: Monday- Friday 09:00-17:30
💸Salary: £40-50,000 per annum dependant on experience
📍Location: Hybrid Norwich (4 days office/1 day wfh)
This role is a UK based role and any hybrid/remote work must also be within the UK.

We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on leader with deep expertise in credit control and a passion for driving transformation. You’ll combine strong technical knowledge with exceptional people skills to build high-performing teams and deliver measurable impact.
📊Essential Experience & Skills
- 8+ years in Credit Control or related roles, including 3+ years in leadership.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and develop teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced IT and data analysis skills, especially Excel.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
🎓Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
- CICM Level 5 (or equivalent).
☑️Desirable
- Experience leading transformation projects in Credit Control or Finance.
- CIMA part-qualified or above.
- Knowledge of FCA, TCF, and Data Protection standards.
- Expertise in advanced data analytics tools for customer insights.

📊THE ROLE
As Senior Credit Control & Billing Manager, you’ll lead a transformation journey to create a best-in-class credit management function. Acting as a strategic partner, you’ll analyse current processes, identify inefficiencies, and redesign ways of working to optimise invoicing accuracy, payment flow, and collections performance. Your expertise will ensure healthy cash flow across a large and diverse customer base while shaping systems and processes that support business growth.
You’ll develop clear, practical credit policies, implement automated credit-control systems, and lead a high-performing team that resolves disputes and billing queries efficiently—minimising bad debt and driving continuous improvement. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on building robust frameworks, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable impact.
Main Responsibilities
⭐Develop Best-Practice Frameworks
- Design and implement robust credit control processes and SOPs.
- Champion strategy and communicate improvements across stakeholders.
⭐Lead and Build High-Performing Teams
- Determine team size and skill mix, recruit and upskill staff.
- Ensure strong retention and effective leadership of subscription services.
⭐Drive Continuous Improvement
- Lead projects to optimise the Order-to-Cash process.
- Use root cause analysis and data insights to refine workflows and reduce non-payment.
⭐Monitor and Report Cash Collections
- Maintain transparent KPI frameworks and report on payment behaviours.
- Provide ROI reporting and performance insights to senior management.
⭐Collaborate Across Departments
- Position Credit Control as a growth enabler while ensuring compliance.
- Build strong relationships with Finance and other teams to maintain accurate ledgers.
⭐Manage Bad Debt and Credit Notes
- Identify potential bad debt and maintain detailed records.
- Ensure timely communication and accurate credit note processing.
⭐Support Forecasting and Budgeting
- Provide insights and working papers to inform accurate forecasts and budgets.
